Simon Brings Game of Thrones Experience to the Film’s Hellfire & Brimstone Antagonist
Los Angeles, CA (June 3, 2022) – Realm Pictures International has signed actors Eugene Simon and Paul Amos for its post-Civil War theatrical epic Steal Away, which is slated to begin filming in the winter of 2022. Simon, who starred in Game of Thrones and House of Anubis, is cast as Myron Sheolgate, a young hellfire preacher and the supremacist leader of the Knights of the Southern Cross. Amos, a principal on Lost Girl, Aaron Stone, and Warehouse13, will portray Clifford Vetter, the venomous anti-religion Crown Prosecutor who sets his daggers on The Jubilee Singers, who have brought the African-American spirituals to England. “I’m excited to be part of this unique project and to see this extraordinary tale be brought to life,” said Amos.
“When I read Steal Away I wanted so badly for this story to be told,” said Simon. “I found it so gripping I didn't put it down. You can't say no to a script that takes you on that kind of journey. For me Myron was everything, he spoke to me very early in the story. Steal Away feels like an untold epic that will inspire countless people of all origins to see the light in the darkness. To see it within themselves even if their world seems void of it.”
“We’re beyond excited to have Eugene and Paul onboard,” said Stephen Ashley Blake, founder and CEO of Realm Pictures International. “These are phenomenally gifted, almost explosively passionate artists that will electrify audiences as they bring these characters to vivid life.” Blake will direct the film.
In developing its motion pictures, Realm Pictures has launched a revolutionary business model that produces studio-scale theatrical features on an indie cost basis, with a commitment to breaking brilliant literary, technical, and performing arts talent from the campuses of America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) into the $2.3 trillion global media industry. In addition, Realm has committed to “tithing” 10% of Steal Away’s assignable net profits to our severely underfunded HBCUs with, charitable gifts projected to potentially top $75 million. “In building philanthropy to these treasured institutions into our core business model, we’re throwing down the gauntlet for both Hollywood and Wall Street to follow,” Blake says.
“Realm is leveling the playing field to give outstanding but undiscovered talent the same opportunity as those born into privilege,” said Blake. “Phase One of Steal Away’s global casting call immediately brought in over 15,000 requests for submissions for just twelve of the picture’s sixty-five speaking roles alone, and that number is increasing daily. Steal Away has already become a launchpad to opportunity for talented women and people of color.”
